I finished Harry Potter this afternoon and I'm bursting!
I'm serious with that title there: you shouldn't read this post until you've read HP7 because I'm going to be talking freely about the book, specific plot points, and the finale, and encouraging others to as well. There will be nothing about Hawaii in the post, I swear.
Are they gone? Good!
I basically sobbed through most of the last 9 or 10 chapters. What a heartbreak! There's dozens of things to talk about, but I'm left with two questions:
(1) Kreacher is alive? What's the deal with not explaining how that happened? Is it as simple as Harry telling him "don't die" (p 476)? That brought him back to life? I'm confused.
(2) How did Draco become master of the Elder Wand (p 743)? I think I totally missed something because that came out of nowhere.

Matt just got back from the beach and explained it to me.
(1) I don't separate Kreacher from Dobby in my mind. They were both in this book and I have the same picture for each of them in my head and they behave so similarly.
Kreacher: Black family elf, helps with Dung and the locket, shows up at the end.
Dobby: freed Malfoy elf, lives at Hogwarts, sent by Aberforth, dead.
(2) I tend to forget the last book as soon as I finish it. Draco disarmed Albus before Snape finished him off, so he was the master of Albus' wand, even if he didn't kill him.
These books require LONG memories.
